چکیده

Two dogs, weighing 15 and 20 kilos respectively, were employed for the experiments. Bromide in blood and urine was determined by the method of Behr, Palmer, and Clarke (1) ; total halide was estimated in aliquot portions of the alkaline ash solutions by the Harvey modification of the Volhard procedure (2). Carbon dioxide was estimated in serum (collected under oil) by the procedure of Van Slyke and Neil1 (3), with the closed manometer apparatus. Total fixed base determinations were made by the procedure of Stadie and Ross (4). Urine was collected without catheterization. The salt-poor diet upon which the dogs were kept consisted of ground dog biscuit with the addition of a 1 per cent solution of extract of beef and 2.5 cc. of cod liver oil daily for each dog. Tap water was allowed ad libitum. On this diet the dogs received

Removing H2S gas from the air stream using zeolite ZSM-5 substrate impregnated with magnetite and ferric nanoparticles

Introduction: Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is a toxic gas that has adverse effects on human health and equipment. One of the methods for eliminating of H2S gas is the use of adsorbent substrate. In this study, the effect of adding iron oxides including ferric (Fe2O3) and magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles to ZSM-5 zeolite substrate was investigated on the efficiency of H2S elimination from the air strea...

بررسی کارایی فرآیند ازن زنی کاتالیزوری با استفاده از کربوسیو در حذف بنزن از جریان هوای آلوده

Introduction & Objective: Benzene is one of the most common volatile organic compounds in the indoor and outdoor environments that has always been considered as one of the causes of air pollution. Thus before being discharged to the environment, it must be treated from pol-luted air stream. The aim of this study was to determine the efficiency of catalytic ozonation process with carbosieve in...

Elimination of Chemical and Spectral Interferences in Measurement of Trace Elements in Urine and Blood by Combined Electrodeposition-Electrothermal Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

A combined electrodeposition-ETAAS technique has been applied to the analysis of Pb, Cd, Co, Ni, Cr and Mn in biological samples in order to overcome interferences and to minimize sample pretreatment. It requires minimal sample preparation with the electrolysis process aiding partial decomposition of the organic matrix, adequate for the release and deposition of trace elements. In an initia...

Evaluation of Nosocomial Infection in Patients at hematology-oncology ward of Dr. Sheikh children’s hospital

Background Infections in critical care unit are high, and they are serious hospital problems. Infections acquired during the hospital stay are generally called nosocomial infections, initially known as infections arising after 48 h of hospital admission. The mostfrequent nosocomial infections (urinary, respiratory, gastroenteritis and blood stream infection) were common in patients at hospit...

جذب تولوئن از جریان هوای آلوده با استفاده از کربن فعال پوشانده شده با اکسیدهای فلزی منگنز و منیزیم

Background and Objectives: Adsorption is one of the most common methods for VOCs elimination from waste air stream. The study on the application of a selective and cheap adsorbent with high efficiency in VOCs removal is important from economic aspects. In this study, the potential of MnO/GAC and MgO/GAC composites was investigated for toluene adsorption from air stream at  lab scale. Materia...
